Solvita D Vitamin D Oral Drops contains 400 IU of vitamin D3/cholecalciferol, an essential vitamin which is needed for normal growth and development of bones in children, especially. Vitamin D helps in the absorption and use of calcium and phosphorus and contributes to normal calcium levels in the body. Cholecalciferol, or vitamin D3, is also used along with calcium to prevent and treat bone diseases such as softening and weakening of bones in children caused by lack of vitamin D, known as rickets; softening and weakening of bones in adults caused by lack of vitamin D, known as osteomalacia; and a condition in which the bones become thin and weak and break easily, called osteoporosis.
