Nexium 10mg Esomeprazole Granules Sachet is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux and ulcers). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough caused by acid reflux or the reflux of nonacidic stomach contents. This medication helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus and also helps prevent ulcers. Esomeprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). By lowering stomach acid levels, Nexium 10 mg reduces acid reflux into the esophagus and the resulting heartburn symptoms.

• Treats frequent heartburn (occurring 2 or more days a week)
• Relieves gastric discomfort involving excessive stomach acid
• Treats acid reflux symptoms such as pain, inflammation and backwash (regurgitation) of food or sour liquid.
• Treats or prevents stomach ulcers caused by medicines called NSAIDs (medications that relieve or reduce pain)

• Use only as prescribed by your Doctor only.
• Empty the contents of each sachet into a glass containing 15 milliliters (ml) of water (3 teaspoonfuls). This means that you will need 15 ml for one sachet and 30 ml for two sachets. Do not use fizzy (carbonated) water. The amount of water depends on the number of sachets that your doctor has told you to take at one time. Stir the granules in the water. Leave the mixture for a few minutes until it has thickened. Stir again and drink the mixture. The granules must not be chewed or crushed. Do not leave the mixture to stand for more than 30 minutes before you drink it. If anything remains in the glass, add some more water, stir and drink it immediately.
• Do not take nonprescription esomeprazole for longer than 14 days or treat yourself with esomeprazole more often than once every 4 months without talking to your doctor. Call your doctor if your symptoms get worse or do not improve after 14 days or if your symptoms return sooner than 4 months after you finish your treatment.
